The Almost Payday Meal

This has been a staple meal from way back in our college days. I actually got this recipe from my mom she's made it for as long as I can remember. It is quick, cheap and you can change it up a bit if you want. It is perfect when you are just trying to make it to payday. The best part is the kids always seem happy to have it for dinner. So are you ready for this complicated recipe...
Goulosh
1 lb hamburger
2 cans tomato sauce
1 can diced tomatoes
1 1/2 cup elbow macaroni
Cook macaroni and brown hamburger.
Drain hamburger and add tomato sauce and diced tomatoes.
Add drained macaroni and stir. Heat until it warmed through.
Voila DINNER IS READY!!
* This recipe is so basic you can add ingredients to make it fit your family. My husband used to tell people if we were feeling rich (meaning we actually had these ingredients on hand) we would add cheese and mushrooms.
*You can add any type of pasta you want and less or more than 1 1/2 cups.

  1. This was one of my favorites growing up! My dad always called it "Missionary Goulosh". Very budget friendly :)
