Busy Day Crock Pot BBQ Chicken

This is one of my favorite dump and run meals for a busy day.  It is easy and my kids love it! The good thing is you can adjust the ingredients for your family's tastes.
Crock Pot Barbeque Chicken
chicken pieces (I used 16 chicken tenders and there was plenty of sauce.)
1 cup barbeque sauce
1/4 cup balsamic vinaigrette (Newman's Own is tasty!)
1/2 cup pop (I used diet Dr. Pepper but Cherry Coke Zero is my favorite to add. )
1 Tablespoon minced onions
3 Tablespoons brown sugar *Optional
Place all ingredients in crock pot. Stir to combine and cook on low for 4-6 hours.

*You can use balsamic vinegar in place of the vinaigrette.
Update: (Optional) About 30 minutes before you are going to eat  mix up 1-2 tablespoons cornstarch in a little bit of water and mix it in the sauce. Replace the lid, keep it on low and cook about 30 minutes. Stirring occasionally. This will allow the sauce to thicken up a bit.

  4. Hello, I wanted to know is this the TV commercial recipe I have seen lately May 2010? Do you use FROZEN chicken and then place it frozen in crock pot? OR do you thaw first and then cook? Thanks!

  5. I did not get this recipe from the TV. I have been making it for years. Something I just made up over the years. I usually just throw the frozen chicken in the crock pot.
