McNee Baked Beans

This is a traditional family recipe.  It has been made for every McNee family gathering I can remember.  It  is one of those tried and true recipes.

Baked Beans
Makes a large pot of beans
2 large cans pork and beans (or 4 -15 oz. cans)
1 medium onion, chopped
1 pound bacon, fried crisp and broken in to small pieces.
1 cup catsup
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons mustard
Mix all ingredients together.  Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
I place mine in the crock pot and cook on low for 2-4 hours.

  1. I love any form of beans!! It's quite scary actually the amount of beans that I consume weekly!

  2. I love baked beans! Especially in the crock pot! I have a couple of bean recipes on my blog. I used to make them like this, but over the years changed recipes a couple of times. I might go back to this kind for our next batch!

  5. A welcomed crockpot recipe, it's been so hot here and I don't like using the oven. My family loves bacon, so good in beans.
